I got advice from a Japanese friend who used a VPN together with an app called TVer https://tver.jp/app The only problem is that the app can only be downloaded from the Japanese Google.
Understanding the Context
It's a website/app that hosts replays of Japanese TV shows. There are live stream programs too. It's free to use, you just need a VPN set to Japan.
