Understanding the Context
SMH is a bit more top heavy with Nvidia at 20.55%, and has 26 stocks. SOXX is a bit more diverse with 31 holdings, but the holdings percentages are more evenly spread. SMH has been outperforming.

SMH and SOXX are very similar. SMH has a slightly lower ER both 90%+ large cap, SMH slightly more Asian exposure. XSD significantly less large cap exposure but no foreign exposure.

Personally think stock picking in semis will perform better than SMH. We already got past the massive explosion of them being introduced to everything. Now you have to look at who will.
I havent seen anyone on here talk about SMH. Semi-conductors, computer, software, etc, those companies will only continue to grow. Its my favorite dividend stock and my favorite ETF. I.
SMH is the best performing non-leveraged ETF for the past five and ten years by far. You have enough assets to have at least some money in SMH.
